As I gaze upon the blooming cacti, standing tall and proud in the midst of a barren desert, I am struck by their incredible vitality. Despite the harsh conditions of their environment, these resilient plants endure, steadfastly overcoming fierce winds and searing heat without the shelter of a windbreak. Armed with sharp thorns, they are a symbol of strength and determination, and inspire in me a sense of awe unlike anything else.
March in Arizona brings warm weather and the start of spring training camps around Phoenix. Outside the stadium, fans eagerly queue up in long lines, hoping to snag an autograph from their favorite players as they emerge from training sessions. Inside the stadium, mascots delight young children by posing for photographs, and the atmosphere is charged with a festive energy that is hard to resist.
